Should the government require children to be vaccinated for preventable diseases?
Unfortunately public trust in vaccines and public health declined after the COVID vaccine disaster.
Thhe measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine has led to a 99% decrease in cases of these diseases in the United States since its introduction in 1963. Globally, vaccines prevent 2-3 million deaths annually. This demonstrates that vaccines have a long history of successful disease prevention.
As for the COVID-19 vaccines, they underwent rigorous testing and were found to be safe and effective by multiple independent bodies. Real-world data shows they have significantly reduced severe disease, hospitalizations, and deaths, even with the presence of variants.
